Bijali
I am Bijali. I am a strong, stubborn, self-confident woman. I am
the leaf dancing in the wind. I am the current whirling in the
ocean. I am the moon, bright and luminous. I am the sunset,
glorious in its radiating light. I am the serpent dancing to the
mysterious tune. I am the lightning strike, quick but also
beautiful and deadly. I am Bijali!

I have been doing belly dance since 2008. I have had no actual
formal training in dance, but dabbled a little with ballet and jazz.
I have been doing Bollywood style dancing for about 3 years
now and enjoy it very much. I feel that when I dance I am
actually one with the music, like it is the rhythm of my heart and
the blood pumping through my veins. I really enjoy the beat of
Middle Eastern music and the way my body seems to follow
along knowing what to do. I dance for exercise, I dance for the
adrenaline rush it gives me, I dance for enjoyment, but mostly I
dance for me.

I am Bijali. I am the shadows dancing on the walls. I am the
beat in every drum. I am the desert sand in the storm, dancing
and whirling to my own tune. I am the flowers swaying to and
fro. I am the river, wild, free, and uncontained. I am the
heartbeat of lovers racing wildly. I am the lightning strike, quick
but also beautiful and deadly. I am Bijali!
